Geology site description:

The impressive sandstone formations at Pješčane were formed by erosion by wind, water and frost. The erosion still continues today. The tots of the towers consist of harder conglomerate, protecting the underlying sandstone.

The Pješčane piramids are located in the east of Bosnia about 60km southeast of Sarajevo.
