In Liebenau there is an old quarry (Haueda) where limestones from the upper Muschelkalk (part of the Triassic period) are exposed. The fossils from this quarry have been reasonally well preverved.
To collect fossils in the quarry, you have to get a permit first at the citycouncil of Liebenau. This is a formality. Be careful near instable rockwalls in the quarry!
